Messi Orders 28.4-Meter New Yacht, Joins His Luxury Yacht Charter Brand
Recently, football superstar Lionel Messi ordered a Sunreef Yachts ULTIMA 88 yacht, which will join MIM Ocean, Messi's luxury yacht charter brand based in the Balearic Islands. According to Gulf News, the yacht is being built at Sunreef's shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.

According to Sunreef's official website, Messi's ULTIMA 88 has an overall length of 28.40 meters and a beam of 9.30 meters, featuring four guest cabins, a full-beam master suite and an Ocean Lounge, powered by twin 1000 hp engines. Spacious wide-body areas, outdoor social spaces and a water-adjacent deck are the main selling points of this model.

MIM Ocean is a luxury yacht charter brand co-founded by Messi and charter operator Med Cat Yachts in 2023. It currently operates three Bali Catamarans 5.4 catamarans, with MIM Ocean 1 and 2 accommodating up to 11 guests and MIM Ocean 3 up to 8. Each vessel comes with a captain, chef and steward.
The fleet is based in the Balearic Islands in summer and moves to the Caribbean and the Bahamas from December to April. The yachts are equipped for activities such as water skiing, wakeboarding and jet skiing, offering a vacation experience that bundles the boat, crew, itinerary and on-water activities.
According to its official website, MIM Ocean combines Messi's hospitality experience gained through MIM Hotels with Med Cat Yachts' charter operating expertise.

MIM Hotels is a boutique hotel brand owned by Messi, with six hotels in Spain and Andorra. Since November 2025, these hotels have been managed by Spain's Meliá Hotels International and included in The Meliá Collection, the group's premium collection of independent boutique hotels.
For Messi, hotels and yachts are forming a high-end lifestyle business portfolio: MIM Hotels provides high-end accommodation and service experience, Med Cat Yachts brings charter operating capability, and MIM Ocean translates both into concrete sea vacation experiences.
