This week, according to Page Six, Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos is planning to sell his $500 million superyacht. The reason for the sale is simple: the vessel is so massive that docking is a hassle.

Bezos ordered the super sailing yacht named "Koru" from Dutch shipyard Oceanco in 2018 for approximately $500 million, and it was officially delivered in 2023. Koru is 127 meters long and 17 meters wide, one of only four sailing yachts in the world over 100 meters in length. At last year's F1 Monaco Grand Prix, the yacht was too large to dock in the harbor, so Bezos and Sanchez had to take a tender to shore before watching the race. When the couple held their wedding in Venice last year, Koru was also too big to enter the Venetian lagoon.

The "Koru" also comes with a $75 million support vessel named "Abeona," but it is unclear whether the support vessel is included in the deal. The annual operating costs for both ships amount to $30 million.

The "Koru" is not only a symbol of wealth but also a testament to love, with a wooden mermaid figure modeled after Sanchez on the bow. In May 2023, Bezos proposed successfully to Sanchez on this very yacht.

Sources also noted that the yacht is equipped with water cannons, intended to deter pirates, but they might be equally effective at warding off paparazzi.

According to Oceanco's website, the deck space of "Koru" features three Jacuzzis and a swimming pool, with an interior design that blends classic and modern styles, dominated by natural wood tones complemented by warm neutral hues and fine patterned fabrics.
