Italy Builds Over Half of the World's Superyachts
According to the latest data published by International Yacht magazine, Italy continues to hold the leading position in global yacht manufacturing. Within the statistical scope, there are a total of 1,093 registered yachts over 24 meters in length, of which 568 projects are designed by Italy, accounting for more than half.
In the manufacturer rankings, the Azimut|Benetti Group has topped the list for the 26th consecutive year. Among them, the Azimut brand has 99 projects under construction (total length approximately 2,955 meters), while the Benetti brand has 64 projects in progress, with a total hull length of 2,969 meters.

Ranking second among Italian manufacturers is Sanlorenzo, whose total length of projects under construction increased by 5.32% compared to the previous year, including motor yachts totaling 4,398 meters and sailing yacht projects under the Swan brand (total length 300 meters).
At the national level, Turkey and the Netherlands follow closely behind Italy. Although Turkey has achieved leapfrog development in recent years with a fleet of about 800 vessels—a significant increase from 27 vessels between 1970 and 1989—its domestic orders have seen a slight decline for the first time since 2019, with a decrease of 1.5%.
United Kingdom has slipped from fourth to sixth place, mainly due to reduced orders at two historic local shipyards—Sunseeker and Princess Yachts. Both have experienced ownership changes and business restructuring in recent years; in particular, Princess Yachts returned to profitability in 2024 after recording a loss in 2023.
The report also notes a shift in the order structure. While some countries have fewer yachts under construction, the individual lengths are increasing, and the market share of superyachts over 76 meters continues to expand. By type, motor yachts remain the absolute dominant category.
