Five F1 Races Including Miami Grand Prix to Be Broadcast Live in US IMAX Theaters
In February this year, Apple announced a deal with F1: starting from the 2026 season, five iconic Grands Prix will be shown on IMAX screens across the United States, with the Miami Grand Prix on May 3 being the first race to hit IMAX, priced at $30 per ticket.
The five races are:
-
May 3, 2026: Miami Grand Prix
-
June 7, 2026: Monaco Grand Prix
-
July 5, 2026: British Grand Prix (Silverstone)
-
September 6, 2026: Italian Grand Prix (Monza)
-
October 25, 2026: United States Grand Prix (Austin)

Each live broadcast lasts approximately 150 minutes, including a 15-minute pre-race buildup, the full race, and the podium ceremony. During the broadcast, wide track panoramas, aerial shots, onboard cockpit views, and slow-motion replays will fill the entire IMAX screen, accompanied by the roar of engines and gear-shifting sounds, offering audiences an unprecedented immersive viewing experience.
This partnership follows the massive success of the film F1. Produced by Apple Original Films and shot with IMAX-certified digital cameras, the film grossed $97.6 million globally from IMAX screens alone, making it the highest-grossing Hollywood film on IMAX worldwide in 2025, with a total global box office exceeding $600 million.
