2026 Monaco F1 Grand Prix Generates €150 Million Economic Impact, €60 Million Benefits Alpes-Maritimes
On June 7, the 2026 Louis Vuitton Monaco F1 Grand Prix officially concluded. The annual event is also a key component of the tourism ecosystem of the French Riviera (also known as Côte d'Azur).
A study commissioned by the Principality of Monaco and the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis shows: The overall economic benefits of the 2026 Monaco F1 Grand Prix will reach €150 million, with nearly €60 million directly benefiting the neighboring cities and towns in Alpes-Maritimes.

Hotel bookings on the French Riviera are exceptionally strong. Four-star and five-star hotels in Monaco, Nice, and Cannes have been fully booked since January 2026, with average prices up 35% compared to 2025. Penthouse suites range from €1,200 to €4,500 per night (approximately RMB 9,000 to 35,000), four to six times the annual average price.
In French towns bordering Monte Carlo, such as Cap d'Ail, Beausoleil, and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, short-term rental prices surge during the race, with many listings increasing two to four times during race week. Small apartments cost €400 to €800 per night (approximately RMB 3,100 to 6,000), while villas or multi-room properties can reach €3,000 to €25,000 for the entire period (approximately RMB 23,000 to 200,000).
The spillover effect of the Grand Prix also benefits inland French villages. Èze and La Turbie see a 40% to 60% increase in visitors during race week, benefiting local winemakers and artisans.

During the event, demand for private aviation also increases. Since Monaco has no airport, most international visitors arrive in Nice first, then travel by road or helicopter to the Principality of Monaco.
The helicopter round trip between Nice and Monaco takes only about 7 minutes, operated mainly by Heli Securite and Monacair, with an average round-trip fare of €280 to €450 per person (approximately RMB 2,100 to 3,500).
Yacht charter demand at the Port of Monaco also hits a record high: during the F1 Grand Prix, over 400 yachts are moored in the port, with charter budgets ranging from €50,000 to several million euros.
