Golf.com Releases Latest Top 100 Golf Courses in the World! Hainan's Shanqin Bay Rises 31 Places
On November 19, Golf.com released its 2025-26 list of the world's top 100 golf courses. The list was selected over several months by 126 panel members from 16 countries, based on 531 candidate courses.
Shanqin Bay Golf Club in Hainan, China ranked 64th, rising 31 places from its previous position. Located in Longgun Town, Wanning City, Hainan Province, it is Asia's unique cliffside ocean-view golf club, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, covering a total area of over 2,000 mu, including an 18-hole international championship course and an original ecological seaside resort.
The top ten are:
1. Pine Valley Golf Club in New Jersey, USA. Designed by George Crump and Harry Colt, the course was built in 1913, initially covering 75 hectares of pine forest, later expanded to 168 hectares of native forest, renowned for its landscape design. The course has topped many lists.
2. Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, California. The course is situated at the foot of the Santa Lucia Mountains on the Monterey Peninsula, with varied terrain accompanied by the magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean.
3. Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland. Built in 1552, it is widely recognized as the birthplace of golf.
4. Royal County Down Golf Club in Newcastle, Northern Ireland.
5. Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
6. National Golf Links of America in Southampton, New York.
7. Royal Melbourne Golf Club (west course) in Australia.
8. Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.
9. Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania.
10. Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen, Nebraska.
