L Catterton-Acquired Golf Putter Brand L.A.B. Golf Sees 100% Sales Growth in 2025
Golf putter brand L.A.B. Golf has grown rapidly since 2018, with official data showing: 2025 sales are estimated to triple, with revenue up 100%, and market share quadrupling over the past 18 months.
In July 2025, L.A.B. Golf sold a majority stake to LVMH's consumer goods fund L Catterton at a valuation of $200 million, making it one of the largest transactions among golf putter companies and L Catterton's first foray into the golf industry. Post-transaction, L.A.B. Golf will accelerate product innovation, enhance direct-to-consumer experiences, expand retail distribution, and enter new international markets. (Link)

Sam Hahn founded L.A.B. Golf in 2017 in Creswell, Oregon. He has an entertainment industry background and is an avid golf enthusiast. Several members of the company's executive team come from TaylorMade, including CEO Robert Johnson, who spent 17 years at TaylorMade.

After selling a majority stake to L Catterton, Sam Hahn told GolfSpy that L.A.B. Golf now has 230 employees in Oregon, but the team is also "learning by doing."
"What makes L.A.B. Golf special is that we are a bunch of 'misfits.' We have no professional background and know nothing about the golf industry. That's why we can challenge the industry standards of how golf companies operate. But the company has entered a new phase where it needs to combine grassroots passion with business capability."
This week, L.A.B. Golf was named to Fast Company's "Most Innovative Companies of 2026" list, which highlights brands and companies with bold ideas and impact that drive real change. Among 720 honorees from 59 industries, L.A.B. Golf is the only sporting goods brand.

L.A.B. Golf's patented "Lie Angle Balance" technology automatically adjusts the center of gravity and angle based on putter length, lie angle, and grip, keeping the clubhead square throughout the entire stroke arc, whereas traditional putters only remain balanced at impact. The brand name derives from this technology. Products are priced between $399 and $599.
After 2023, with adoption by PGA Tour players such as Adam Scott, Lucas Glover, and J.J. Spaun, L.A.B. Golf entered a rapid growth phase through word of mouth. In 2025, 63 PGA Tour players used the brand's putters, a 22% increase year-over-year.
