Valued at $1 Billion: Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy's Sports Media Company Set to Close New Funding Round
The sports media company TMRW Sports, founded by golf superstars Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is about to finalize a new funding round that will value the company at over $1 billion.

A source revealed that talks between TMRW and certain investors, including high-net-worth individuals, began at least around the time of the July World Cup final. Another source said the round received "significant institutional support."
Three other sources told the English-language media outlet Front Office Sports that Dynasty Equity, which co-led the 2024 Series A round, will participate in this new round. The identities of other individual investors remain unclear. The other institution that co-led the Series A round was Connect Ventures.
TMRW Sports was founded in 2022. According to CB Insights data, the company has completed 8 funding rounds to date, raising approximately $97.63 million in total. TMRW Sports' most recent publicly disclosed funding occurred in 2024, when it was valued at about $500 million post-money, but according to multiple media reports, the company also completed a funding round in 2025, with its valuation rising to about $650 million.

Since its founding, TMRW Sports has also attracted investment from numerous sports figures, including tennis star Andy Murray, Stephen Curry, Michael Rubin, CEO of Fanatics, the world's largest sports licensed merchandise retailer, and veteran American investor David Blitzer.
TMRW Sports positions itself as "building a modern approach to sports, media and entertainment," blending technology with traditional sports to create a younger, more diverse, and more interactive viewing and participation experience.
Its flagship project is the high-tech indoor team golf league TGL, in partnership with the PGA Tour. Matches take place at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, using fast-paced, team-based competition rules designed for primetime television, combining simulators with real greens and keeping the entire event within 2 hours.

TGL's inaugural season launched in January 2025. This year, TGL's second season set viewership records, partly thanks to the 50-year-old Woods competing during the finals.
TMRW Sports has also partnered with the LPGA on a women's indoor team golf league, with its first season planned to launch in November 2026. Jeeno Thitikul, Ruoning Yin, Charley Hull, Michelle Wie, Lydia Ko, Rose Zhang and other well-known players will compete. The competition is divided into five teams: New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, Atlanta, and Boston. Wall Street financier Steve Cohen, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Home Depot founder Arthur M. Blank and other well-known entrepreneurs and investment institutions have invested in individual teams.

Beyond golf, in March of this year, TMRW Sports announced a partnership with the NFL to develop and operate men's and women's professional flag football leagues, with the goal of launching the first season before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
