Private Aviation Demand Surges for the Masters, Augusta to Open New Terminal
Private aviation company NetJets recently announced it will build a new exclusive terminal at Augusta Regional Airport (AGS) in Georgia to meet private aviation demand during the annual Masters golf tournament in April and other events.

Augusta Regional Airport, located about six miles south of downtown Augusta in Richmond County, is a key hub for private aviation, especially during the annual Masters tournament when hundreds of private jets land on the tarmac.
During last year's tournament, NetJets operated nearly 580 customer flights to and from Augusta. Compared to 430 customer flights in 2024, demand surged by 34%. NetJets expects up to 775 flights to the Augusta area during this year's peak period, highlighting the broad appeal of the iconic golf championship.
At the same time, NetJets has noted year-round growth in flight activity in the Augusta area. In 2025, total flight demand at the airport increased by 27% compared to 2024. NetJets says the new development will help streamline travel to Augusta as well as other southeastern airports like Atlanta and Charlotte, which often experience air and ground congestion.

The new state-of-the-art terminal, exclusively for NetJets customers, will feature private lounges, dedicated staff, and direct tarmac access for seamless aircraft transfers. Guests flying in for the Masters this April will see the terminal in early construction stages, with only foundation walls erected. However, the dedicated apron will be completed before the tournament, offering 432,000 square feet of aircraft parking space.
The specific opening date for the new terminal has not been announced, but NetJets says it will be ready "soon."
