Rosewood Opens First Ski Resort in Courchevel: From €2,300/Night, Open Only 4 Months a Year

December 22, 2025

On December 19, Rosewood Hotel Group's first ski hotel and resort—Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin—officially opened, marking the group's second property in France after the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris.

The hotel is located in the prime area of Courchevel 1850, the highest, most luxurious, and most renowned village within the Courchevel resort in the French Alps. Courchevel 1850 is open only 4 months a year and is often called "Saint-Tropez on Snow", hosting numerous luxury brand boutiques, five-star hotels, and Michelin-starred restaurants.

Rosewood Courchevel has been fully renovated and redesigned by French interior designer Tristan Auer, blending contemporary Alpine luxury. Inspired by the human touch of Courchevel in the 1960s, Auer's design features warm earth tones, natural wood and stone, along with copper accents and mirrored surfaces that add a light, dynamic feel.

Tristan Auer said: "We approached this project as if creating a private manor house, not a traditional hotel. Our idea was to capture the breathtaking mountain scenery and transport guests to a place where every space offers an experience beyond expectations."

Rosewood Courchevel features 51 guestrooms and suites, including three signature villas that can accommodate up to eight guests each. Every room offers panoramic terrace views of the majestic mountains of Les Trois Vallées, the world's largest ski area. The entire resort offers ski-in/ski-out access.

The hotel also houses the renowned Asaya® Spa, partnering with Parisian skincare brand Maison EviDenS de Beauté and Australian organic brand Sodashi for customized wellness treatments. The spa includes an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, and a "Kids' Cave" with interactive fountains.

In sync with Courchevel 1850's operating schedule, Rosewood Courchevel is open during the ski season from December to mid-April each year, with room rates starting at €2,300 per night (approximately RMB 19,000 per night).

Founded in 1946, the Courchevel resort is now one of the world's most famous ski destinations, comprising six villages at different altitudes: Saint-Bon (approx. 1,100m), Courchevel Le Praz (1,300m), Courchevel La Tania (1,400m), Courchevel Village (1,550m), Courchevel Moriond (1,650m), and Courchevel 1850 (1,850m).

In addition to Rosewood, Courchevel 1850 is home to top luxury hotels such as Cheval Blanc and AMAN, as well as boutiques of renowned luxury brands including Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Prada, and Rolex.
