Indoor Golf Venue Five Iron Golf, Backed by Callaway Group and Shake Shack Founder, Completes Series E Funding

U.S. indoor golf entertainment experience company Five Iron Golf announced the completion of its Series E funding round, led by Los Angeles-based private equity firm Coral Tree Partners. The firm focuses on investments in sports, media, entertainment, technology, and other sectors, managing over $500 million in assets.

The new capital will be used to support the company's continued expansion, technology development, and project investments. Coral Tree founding partner Alan Resnikoff will join the Five Iron Golf board of directors.

Five Iron Golf received a $30 million investment from Callaway Golf Company in 2021, and in 2024, it secured a $20 million minority equity investment from Enlightened Hospitality Group, the investment firm of Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer.

Five Iron Golf was founded in 2017 in Manhattan, New York, with the brand name derived from "Fifth Avenue" (Five) and "Flatiron District" (Iron). The founding team includes golf coach Mike Doyle, business development veteran Nora Dunnan, and finance background Jared Solomon (pictured left to right below).

Each Five Iron Golf location is equipped with Trackman simulators and high-speed camera systems, offering access to over 200 top virtual courses worldwide, along with professional instruction, league play, and custom club fitting. The venues also integrate sports bars, chef-driven dining, and party events, creating an immersive space that combines competition, socializing, and entertainment: catering to the improvement needs of seasoned golfers while providing activity space for casual players.

Co-founder and CEO Jared Solomon said: "Five Iron's original intention was to make golf more accessible, more social, and more fun—without sacrificing the premium experience for serious players."

Currently, Five Iron Golf has opened more than 40 locations across 16 U.S. states and 5 countries globally. In April this year, the company will open its largest U.S. venue in Coral Gables, Florida, spanning 30,000 square feet (approximately 2,787 square meters), creating a comprehensive social entertainment destination.
