April 23, 2026

WTA (Women's Tennis Association) CEO Portia Archer has officially left the organization. On Wednesday, WTA Chair Valerie Camillo informed WTA staff and other stakeholders of the news. Portia Archer joined the WTA in late July 2024 and departed on April 20, coinciding with the end of her contract, having served less than two years.

Portia Archer earned her bachelor's degree in public policy and economics from the University of Chicago and later an MBA from Columbia University. She previously served as Chief Operating Officer of the NBA G League, Senior Vice President and General Manager of DTC Business for NBC Sports Gold, and Vice President of International Distribution, Digital and SVOD at HBO.

Valerie Camillo stated that the WTA will provide an update on the management "transition plan" by mid-May. It remains unclear whether the plan involves organizational restructuring or external recruitment.
