Luxury Brands' Large Handbags Have Become the 'Chosen' Tennis Bags
When heading to the tennis court, you don't necessarily have to carry a sports brand tennis bag—luxury brands' large handbags not only showcase fashion style but are also incredibly spacious, making them the 'chosen' tennis bags for many. Orange Bay Sports details which luxury brand bags have become popular 'tennis companions'!
GUCCI
In July 2023, Sinner walked onto the Wimbledon court carrying a custom Gucci Duffle bag in the classic monogram colorway, sparking widespread attention.
Sinner, a Gucci brand ambassador, said in an interview: "This is the first time in Wimbledon history that a high-end luxury travel bag has been brought onto the court, and it will certainly spark discussion. Combining sports with luxury fashion in this way is unprecedented, and I am honored to be part of it. I hope everyone will love it as much as I do." Since then, this travel bag has become a common sight at his tournaments.

Following this, Gucci designed multiple color variations of the Duffle bag for Sinner, including an all-white full-leather Duffel from the tennis capsule collection co-created with HEAD in May 2024, and a blue-gray bag with blue-yellow stripes that Sinner carried at this year's US Open.

On social platforms, besides the Duffle, Gucci's large Totissima canvas bag is also a 'court companion' for tennis fans.

Louis Vuitton
In 2004, Louis Vuitton launched a tennis bag in the monogram colorway (below).

Nowadays, however, Louis Vuitton's Keepall, Speedy in sizes 45 and 50, as well as Neverfull, Cabas Light and other styles, are increasingly used to carry tennis rackets onto the court.

Goyard
The Goyard Hardy handbag was originally created as a custom pet carrier for a client's cat, Hardy. Today, thanks to its oversized capacity, waterproof canvas coating, and lightweight design, it has been hailed by many netizens as the 'chosen tennis bag'.

Another Goyard bag, the Cisalpin canvas backpack, is also used by netizens as a tennis bag.

Dior
In August this year, Zheng Qinwen appeared in the advertising campaign for Dior's new D-Journey handbag. Available in small, medium, and large sizes, the large version can easily hold a tennis racket, making it a top choice for many tennis fans.

The classic Dior Book tote is also being carried onto tennis courts.

Hermès
In the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, Hermès unveiled a Kelly tennis bag. Designed by then-artistic director Jean-Paul Gaultier, it cleverly incorporated new elements into the iconic Kelly bag, adding a pocket for a racket and a sporty oversized shoulder strap.

In 2013, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of French sportswear brand Lacoste, Hermès launched a limited-edition olive green crocodile leather tennis bag.

Chanel
Chanel's Cruise 2022/23 collection featured a tennis racket-shaped mini bag and a standard-sized racket bag.

Chanel's Deauville large handbag and Sport series travel bag are also being used to carry tennis rackets.
