US Racket Sports SaaS CourtReserve Secures $54M Funding, Serving 2,000 Clubs

October 29, 2025

On October 21, US tennis and pickleball club management software developer CourtReserve announced a $54 million strategic growth investment from growth equity firm Mainsail Partners. Currently, CourtReserve partners with over 2,000 racket sports clubs in North America, serving 5 million users.

CourtReserve was founded in 2016 by Tim and Ashley Owens, a couple who are avid tennis and pickleball enthusiasts. At the time, they attended lessons and leagues at various tennis clubs but found that many clubs lacked technological support, preventing players from checking court availability. Some clubs didn't even have phone numbers, forcing players to drive 20 minutes or more to see available courts and schedules, and to register for tournaments in person. The couple wanted to provide a more convenient solution for players.

Tim Owens was previously a software developer, while Ashley worked in marketing and sales in the medical device industry, and earlier as a police officer. The couple decided to leverage their expertise to build a complete online club management platform, helping players quickly book courts, lessons, and check court availability, while club coaches can manage lessons and players through the platform.

At the 2016 USPTA Conference in Palm Springs Desert, Tim and Ashley introduced CourtReserve and a six-month service package priced at $75, securing their first order. In 2020, CourtReserve reached its first milestone: 100 club clients. By 2024, that number reached 1,500.

CourtReserve offers four tiers of SaaS services to clubs, priced at: $99/$199/$499/$549 per month.

This funding will help CourtReserve accelerate product development, enhance customer service and support, deepen integrations, and expand market coverage to sports facilities across North America.

"Ashley and Tim have first-hand experience running racket sports clubs, giving them deep insight into the complex workflows that can be optimized through software and AI," said Jason Frankel, Partner at Mainsail Partners. "With a mission-driven culture and the rapid growth of pickleball and racket sports, we are excited to support the CourtReserve team in taking their platform to the next level, better serving club owners, players, and the racket sports community."
