May 27, 2026

On May 11, tennis star Rafael Nadal's co-founded real estate investment company Palya Invest, Armani Group, and Spanish real estate developer Sierra Blanca Estates jointly announced the construction of Armani Residences Marbella on the Costa del Sol in the southern Spanish city of Marbella. This is Armani Group's first real estate project in Spain.

Nadal himself said:

"The Armani Residences Marbella project means a lot to me, especially the opportunity to collaborate again with the Armani Group, a brand I deeply admire and had the chance to work with early in my career. Now, together with Sierra Blanca, a developer with extensive experience on the Costa del Sol, and with a keen understanding of current real estate trends, we are creating a project with a fresh perspective that aims to promote physical and mental well-being, champion a sporting spirit, and advocate a Mediterranean lifestyle, striving to inspire everyone."

Nadal's collaboration with Armani dates back to 2011, when he endorsed Emporio Armani underwear and Armani jeans collections.

Armani Residences Marbella plan

Since the 2010s, Nadal has invested in numerous real estate projects in Spain through his family holding company Aspemir, including purchasing personal residences and investing in commercial properties.

In April 2025, Nadal co-founded the real estate company Palya Investe with Abel Matutes Prats, president of the Spanish Palladium hotel group, planning to invest 200 million euros to build 100 luxury homes along the Costa del Sol, with completion expected between 2027 and 2028.

The project is divided into two phases: the first phase is located in the Los Llanos area of Estepona, and the second phase is on the Golden Mile coastline of Marbella. These residences will adopt a "branded residence" model, combining luxury properties with well-known brands to enhance their appeal and market value.

The site for Armani Residences Marbella is the last private plot along the coastline connecting Marbella and Puerto José Banús, covering 50,000 square meters. It will feature 33 residences, to be released in phases, with only 12 residences initially available.

The project design will adhere to the Armani brand's design philosophy—balance, harmony, and authenticity. It will include a range of exclusive amenities, such as a state-of-the-art spa, a gym with the latest equipment, a private club, and 24-hour concierge service. Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with completion in 2028.

Both the Armani Residences Marbella project and Palya Investe's other luxury residential projects are being built by Sierra Blanca, which has developed numerous luxury real estate projects on the Costa del Sol, including Dolce & Gabbana Marbella Design Hills, Karl Lagerfeld Villas Marbella, and Epic Marbella, which features interior decoration by Fendi Casa.

Notably, last year, Nadal's tennis academy Rafa Nadal Academy opened at the Don Carlos Hotel in Marbella, less than a 20-minute drive from the Golden Mile coastline. Nadal also plans to collaborate with Sierra Blanca to create another club named after him nearby.
